Independent learning time
Children and parents are welcome into the classroom from 8.45. Children have a number of independent learning tasks to work through and the class teacher often uses this time to work with individual children on their next steps. Parents are welcome into the classroom until 9.15, but we ask that parents use this time to work with their child. If adults would like to talk to each other, please do this outside of the classroom so as not to increase the noise level in the classroom and distract the children.
Register will be done at 9.05. We ask that everyone in the classroom, including parents, joins in with the ‘high five’ and is silent at this time to set an example to the children.
Pick up time
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org and your class teacher to let the office know if anyone different is picking up your child. We cannot let children go with another parent unless we have been told in advance.
If you wish for your child to walk home alone on certain evenings, please fill in a consent form at the office.
PE kit it is plain bottoms (shorts of tracksuit), a white Rosendale t-shirt and trainers. Children must bring in a complete change of clothes for PE, rather than arrive to school in it. Children can use the trainers that they wear to school.
Meetings with class teacher
If you wish to discuss a matter involving your child, such as their progress or behaviour, please email your teacher to make an appointment. We are unable to discuss these matters during independent learning time or a pick up time, as we are supervising children at this time.
Although we do not set homework at Rosendale, there are always opportunities for home learning. Spellings will be put on the blog weekly, and children will have a weekly times table test.
We will also be posting an “Invite to write” on the blog, which can be done at home.
Check out the weekly round up for information on what we have been learning and what we will be learning the following week, as it may include ideas on how to support your child at home.
